*JOB VACANCY* We have a fantastic opportunity for a PART TIME FLEXIBLE WORKING role within our very busy service department as a SERVICE ADVISOR.

Working days/hours

 Hours can be decided with the successful applicant but we have a guide of 14-24 hours over 2-3 days to include Monday and Friday.

 The working hours would be within our core opening hours of 0800-1630. 

The job is flexible in regard to day swaps (with notice), however we would expect flexibility in return and the ability to cover other staff holidays. This would include midweek day swaps, occasional full week working, and cover from 0800-1630. All cover requests would have suitable notice period.

 

The team

We have a fantastic team at our service department that comprises of 2 bodyshop technicians, 5 vehicle technicians, and 2 Service administration staff. They are a very happy hardworking bunch and would love to welcome someone who is positive and happy, isn't scared of a bit of hard work, and will get on well with their colleagues and customers.

Wages will be based on age and experience and expected to start slightly above the appropriate National Living Wage for that person's age.

 

The role

A brief description of the role is to be a liaison between the customer and the vehicle technicians. Booking in work, providing an accurate description of faults or requirements to the technicians, and communicating updates and final invoicing to the customer. A happy smiling person who engages well with customers would be a great candidate.

You will report to the Senior Service advisor, who will help you learn the job and act as a mentor too. A positive attitude to learning and willingness to get stuck in would be very beneficial.

Please note this is a very customer service focused role, with a heavy IT aspect to it. A good basic grasp of IT would be a minimum requirement in order to navigate the systems.

Full training will be given.

Service advisor duties include;

  • Dealing with customers face to face and over the phone.
  • Taking a job booking and create a job on our Dealer Management System (DMS) electronic diary.
  • Liaise with the technicians with any technical queries, and to help manage the booking diary effectively to maximise efficiency whilst making sure work can be done on time.
  • Management of stock – including parts purchase, checking parts delivered, and entering up these details onto our D.M.S.
  • Using our DMS to prepare job sheets and invoices.
  • Connecting to the Ford Intranet to produce service schedules.
  • Using Ford PTS technical Information, and Microcat parts system to provide quotes on parts, services, and to assist the technicians.
  • General Administration and help with the upkeep of the office and reception area.

Timescale; 

We will be looking for someone to start immediately(17/02/2025), or up to 4 weeks time. We will access applicants as their details come over and arrange informal chats/interviews ad hoc, so the quicker the better for expressing interest.
